FAQ

Questions, answered.

How is engagement rate worked out?

Add up the average interactions per post: likes and comments, plus saves and shares if you include them. Divide by your followers and multiply by 100. 400 likes and 100 comments on 10,000 followers is 5%.

What is a good engagement rate?

There’s no single answer. It changes with your niche, your account size and the posts you pick. The most useful comparison is your own rate over time, worked out the same way each time. On Pro, Waveloop’s Instagram audience insights also show your top posts and best time to post.

How do I get my average likes?

Add up the likes on a set of recent posts, say your last 10, and divide by the number of posts. Do the same for comments.

Do you save my numbers?

No. The calculator runs in your browser, and what you type stays on your device.
