No. The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. You can start free and upgrade later from your dashboard.
Free gives you unlimited contacts, automations and DMs, with fair use.
When you do add a card
Pro starts with a 7-day free trial. The trial asks for a card, but nothing is charged that day.
- Pick Pro when you sign up.
- Choose Start 7-day free trial and add your card.
- Use the full plan for 7 days.
- Your first payment is taken on day 7.
Cancel before day 7 and you pay nothing. You'll find it in Settings, under Billing Information. Each Instagram account can use a free trial once. More detail: How does the 7-day free trial work?
Why the trial needs a card
The card is there for your first payment on day 7. Your bank may show a zero-amount check, which confirms the card can be billed later.
- The trial takes a credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. UPI can't start a trial.
- In India, the trial is on monthly billing. Yearly is paid on the day you sign up.
Paying right away
You can also skip the trial and pay on day one. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which emails you the official receipt.
