Yes, when it runs on Instagram's official API. Waveloop does. We're an Official Meta Business Partner and an Official Meta Tech Provider, and everything goes through that official connection.
Official API or your password
Some automation tools ask for your Instagram password and log in as you. Waveloop never asks for it. You connect with Instagram Login, on Instagram's own page, and Waveloop can only do what you approve there.
How Waveloop protects your account
- It only replies. Waveloop messages people who commented, replied to your story or sent you a DM. It doesn't message strangers.
- Only what it needs. It asks Instagram for three permissions: your basic profile, your messages and your comments.
- It follows Instagram's rules. A comment can get a private reply within 7 days. A DM conversation can be answered for 24 hours after the person's last message.
- One DM per comment. Each comment is answered once, even if Instagram tells us about it twice.
- Careful retries. When Instagram pushes back with a rate limit, Waveloop waits before it tries again.
- Blocked links. Waveloop refuses links known to break Meta's rules, like pirated app downloads.
- You stay in control. Disconnect anytime from Connections.
If Instagram restricts your account
If Instagram blocks an action on your account, Waveloop stops retrying for that account for a full day. If Instagram ends Waveloop's access, your dashboard asks you to reconnect. Here's what to do.
Instagram decides when to limit an account, and no tool can promise it never will.
What you can do
- Send what people asked for. Keep the DM about the keyword they commented.
- Put your link in the button. Instagram is more likely to block a DM with a link pasted in its text.
- On Pro, write a few message versions so your DMs don't all read the same.
- Keep your Instagram connected. If the dashboard asks you to reconnect, do it soon.
