Waveloop holds two official titles from Meta:
- Official Meta Business Partner
- Official Meta Tech Provider
These titles are not the blue Meta Verified badge. Meta Verified is a paid subscription for profiles, and it's a separate product.
What the two titles mean
- Official Meta Tech Provider: Waveloop builds software on Meta's platform for other businesses. Before an app like Waveloop can work with other people's Instagram accounts, Meta reviews the business behind it and the permissions it asks for.
- Official Meta Business Partner: Meta gives this title to companies it works with to serve businesses on its platforms.
More in our post on the two Meta titles.
Is Waveloop legit?
Yes. Waveloop connects to your account through Instagram's official API, with Instagram Login. Everything it does for you goes through that official connection.
- You log in on Instagram's own page. Waveloop never sees your password.
- Waveloop can only do what you approve when you connect.
- Instagram's rules apply to every message. A comment can get a private reply within 7 days, and a DM conversation can be answered for 24 hours after the person's last message.
- You can remove Waveloop's access anytime, in Waveloop or in your Instagram settings.
About the blue badge
Meta Verified adds a blue badge to a profile. It's for your own account, and it has nothing to do with the titles above. You don't need it to use Waveloop, and Waveloop works the same with or without it.
Curious what Waveloop can access? See Waveloop asks for permissions. Is that safe?
