Switch on email collection in any automation. Right after your DM goes out, Waveloop asks the person for their email and saves it to your leads. It's on the Pro and Max plans. On Free, you see it in the builder with a lock, and you can try it with the 7-day Pro trial.
Set it up
- Open a comment, DM keyword or story reply automation.
- Click Also collect their email.
- Tick Ask for their email.
- Write your Email prompt, like "What's the best email to send it to?" Leave it blank to use the default.
- Add an optional Thank-you message, sent once a valid email arrives.
- Save, and check the automation is Live.
What the person sees
- They get your DM and link as usual.
- A second message asks for their email.
- They reply. If the reply contains a valid email address, Waveloop saves it and sends your thank-you message.
Waveloop waits up to 24 hours for their answer. If they reply with something that isn't an email, nothing is saved and they're not asked again for that DM. With follow to unlock on, the question comes after they've unlocked the link.
Collect emails from your stories
Story replies work too. Post a story that says "Reply GUIDE and I'll send it", build a story reply automation with the keyword GUIDE, and switch on email collection in it.
Find your emails
Open Contacts and go to Email leads. Click Download emails CSV to export the list. Here's where your leads live and what each file holds.
Say what they'll get by email in your prompt, like "Want the next recipe too? What's your email?" A clear reason makes the question feel like part of the conversation.
