Every automation has a Results card. It shows how many DMs went out, how many didn't go through and why, and how many people tapped your link.
Where to find it
- Comment automations: open the automation and choose the Overview tab. The card is at the top.
- DM keyword and story reply automations: open the automation. The card sits under the short intro at the top.
- From the list: in Automations, tap the three dots on a row and choose See results. The automation opens on its card.
Pick 7 days, 30 days or 90 days at the top of the card. It refreshes every minute while it's open.
What each number means
- Sent: DMs that went out. On a comment automation, that's one for each comment answered. A note says how many went as plain text after Instagram refused the button, and how many arrived after the person replied.
- Didn't go through: DMs that didn't reach the person. The reasons are listed under the numbers.
- Link clicks: taps on the link button in this automation's DMs. It says Off when link tracking is switched off, and No link when the DM has no link button.
- Emails: emails people sent you in this automation's DMs, when email collection is on.
- New followers: people who followed you to get the DM, when follow to unlock is on. Comment automations only.
Link clicks are counted for each automation on DMs sent since the Results card arrived. Taps on older DMs still count in the click-through rate on Home.
Why some didn't go through
Every refused DM gets a plain reason, sorted into three groups.
- Instagram's rules: Instagram didn't allow these, and no tool can send them. For example, the person commented twice, deleted the chat, or never messaged you, so Instagram blocked the button. Instagram's messaging rules explain each one.
- Still trying: Instagram slowed sending for a while. On comment automations, Waveloop tries most of these again, and one that goes through moves to Sent. DM keyword and story reply automations don't resend, so there this group is called Not sent.
- Needs you: fix these and the next DMs go out. You may need to reconnect Instagram, turn on message access, or shorten a message to 1,000 characters. Some reasons have a button, like Reconnect or Edit message.
Anything else shows under Other, with Instagram's code when it gave one.
Free and Pro
On Free, the card shows the last 7 days: Sent, Didn't go through with every reason, and Link clicks. Emails and New followers show with a lock.
Pro adds 30 and 90 days, a Sent per day chart with your best day, and the Emails and New followers numbers. The card follows the plan of the Instagram account the automation belongs to. Compare plans on the pricing page.
