Why isn't my automation firing?

Work through this checklist in order. Most problems are one of the first four.

1. It's switched on. Open the automation and check it says Live at the top. New automations start as drafts.
2. It's on the right post. On Free, a comment automation only watches the one post or reel you picked in Choose Post or Reel.
3. The keyword matches. The comment has to contain your keyword, spelled the same way. Capital letters don't matter. Keywords of one or two characters only match as a whole word.
4. You're testing from another account. Instagram doesn't let an account DM itself, so comment from a second Instagram account.
5. Instagram is still connected. If your dashboard asks you to reconnect, follow these steps.
6. Message access is on. Instagram's Allow access to messages setting must be on. See the steps below.
7. It's a professional account. Waveloop needs a Business or Creator account. Switching is free in Instagram.
8. The comment is recent. Instagram allows a private reply to a comment within 7 days only.
9. Only one automation answers. If two automations use the same keyword on the same post, only one replies. Home flags these keyword conflicts.
10. Instagram passed the comment on. Comments Instagram hides, for example through your Hidden Words settings, may not reach Waveloop.

Turn on Allow access to messages

If this setting is off, Instagram blocks every DM Waveloop tries to send.

1. Open the Instagram app on your phone.
2. Go to Settings and activity, then Messages and story replies.
3. Open Message controls, then Connected tools.
4. Turn on Allow access to messages.
